Alexander Hennessy is the founder and editor of The Westphalian, a forthcoming publication and intelligence project focused on power, technology, markets, institutions, and civilization. Trained in law and economics, and shaped by work in trading, research, private-market transactions, debt offerings, and public-markets analysis, he brings an investor’s attention to incentives, a lawyer’s attention to structure, and a writer’s concern for meaning.
The Westphalian asks a recurring question: where are we, and what is the state of play? Hennessy’s work examines how values, politics, economics, war, technology, culture, and markets interact — and how movements at one level of the system alter the possibilities at another. Written for intellectually curious readers, investors, founders, executives, and institutional operators, The Westphalian exists to provide orientation in a disordered world.
